Deon Krishnan - Headteacher

It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility that I step into the role of Acting Headteacher. As I take on this new position, I am both honored and excited to lead a school that is renowned for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and community spirit. My primary goal is to ensure that we continue to provide a supportive and enriching environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe in fostering a collaborative atmosphere where students are encouraged to explore their passions, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a love for lifelong learning. In the coming months, I look forward to working closely with our dedicated staff, engaged parents, and enthusiastic students to build on our school’s many strengths. Together, we will strive to create an inclusive and nurturing environment that empowers every member of our school community.

Kathryn Furness  - Deputy Headteacher

As Deputy Headteacher and staff governor, I strive to make sure we offer an inclusive education; our students are individuals and deserve to be treated as such. I am extremely passionate about providing a high-level of professional development for our staff to ensure that the teaching and learning our students experience every day is of the highest standard. I have worked at Monkseaton High School since January 2000, completing my teacher training at the school and holding a variety of roles since. I enjoy the challenge of supporting students to have high expectations and aspirations, making sure they are each ready for life after school.

Dave Walton - Assistant Headteacher

As Assistant Headteacher I passionately believe in inclusive education where every young person has an education that allows them to succeed, fulfil their potential and make their best possible progress towards the next journey of their lives. I have worked at the school since 2004 as a Year lead, Subject Lead as well as taking on the responsibility for information, advice and guidance. More recently, my substantive role has been as SENDCo where I have thoroughly enjoyed supporting and challenging the aspirations of our young people and watching them flourish. In my current role, I also have responsibility for admissions and Alternative provision, supporting young people who come to school to have the best possible chances.
