Reunion Tournament - Lee Picton
The 2nd annual Monkseaton reunion tournament is due to be held at the school on Saturday 20th June. We're hoping to build on the success of last years event and hopefully make this one even bigger and better!! More details to follow soon.

End of season awards - Lee Picton
The football academy held its annual awards evening last Thursday, which was superbly attended by players, parents and officials of both present and past Monkseaton teams. The night was a resounding success and reflected perfectly the amazing success the squad has enjoyed this season. In addition to each academy player receiving medals for the various team titles picked up this season, the following players were awarded individual awards:
 
Zach Tweddell - Academy Player of the Year
Paul Farman - Players Player of the Year
Matthew Scott - Young Player of the Year
Craig Boyle - Top Goalscorer

5 star season! - Lee Picton
English Colleges League - WINNERS
English Colleges National Cup - WINNERS
Evening Chronicle Schools County Cup - WINNERS
Northumberland Schools Division 1 - WINNERS
Northumberland Schools Division 2 - WINNERS
 
This week saw the Academy pick up 4 more trophies starting on Tuesday with a 2-1 win over Cramlington High School in the Evening Chronicle County Cup thanks to goals from Luke Newton and Mark Waite. The following day, we travelled down to Selby College and won 4-0 (Tito Davison 3, Gavin Newton) which secured the English Colleges league title. Our "A" team and "B" team have also won their respective schools league competitions, thus making a clean sweep for the season, an achievement that we are all extremely proud of. A massive well done to all the Academy players for their hard work and performances throughout the year!!

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS (AGAIN)!!! - Lee Picton
Would you believe it?! Monkseaton High School, which boasts a mere 230 sixth form students, has just re-written the record books by becoming the first ever school to win the English Colleges National Trophy thanks to a superb second half goal from Luke (Crouch) Newton!! This was the only goal in a thrilling encounter which saw the Monkseaton lads deservedly beat the much fancied opposition from Gateshead College. The victory marks Monkseatons third National title (inc. 2 English Schools titles) in four years and cements our position as one of the best footballing programmes of its kind in the country. The coaching staff and players would just like to thank enormously the students, staff and parents who travelled across the country yesterday to cheer on the team, your support was much appreciated and we hope you enjoyed the day just as much as we did!!

We did it! - Lee Picton
Monkseaton Football Academy 5 - 0 SEEVIC College (Essex)
 
A first half hattrick from Craig Boyle and two goals from Luke Newton eased Mokseaton through to the ECFA National Trophy final yesterday. In a superb display, the Monkseaton boys proved far too strong for the opposition with all 5 goals coming before half time. We now play Gateshead College in the final to be played on 22nd April at the New Saints FC, North Wales. Congratulations to all the squad for a fantastic effort, WELL DONE!!!

Academy in national semi's - Lee Picton
Tomorrow sees Monkseaton's Football Acaedemy travel down to Nottingham to play in the semi final of the English Colleges FA National Trophy against SEEVIC College (Essex). As the only unbeaten team this season in the whole of the country, we're confident and optimistic we can maintain this record tomorrow and reach yet another national final to add to our two English Schools FA titles from 2006 and 2007. Fingers crossed!

Another great win!
The Monkseaton Football Academy moves towards April still unbeaten in all league competitions with a 1-0 win over local rivals Tyne Metropolitan College, thanks to a second half strike from Mark Waite. This result leaves us as very strong favourites to win the league and achieve promotion into the English Colleges National Premier Division, which would be an outstanding achievement in our first season playing in the ECFA.
