Monkseaton's Sixth Form is open to students from other schools and countries, as well as our own students. We offer a very wide range of courses (currently about 100) because we try to meet the interests and abilities of all students.  There are many A Level and BTEC courses, as well as one year options leading to these courses. 

We also offer exceptional opportunities: there is the chance to study degree courses through The Open University (this link explains the scheme) - a popular option for committed students.  There over 50 OU courses (to see the courses click on this link) . These courses are also part of our special scheme with the University of Newcastle that guarantees places at the university for students wishing to study Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths degrees.  We even offer degree apprenticeships where we pay you to work in the school- and pay for your degree as well. The Football Academy is exceptionally successful, and every year some of the team win sports scholarships to universities in the USA.  The Girls Football Academy is building on this success.

There are many opportunties to become involved in many other activies or travel abroad.  For example, we are currently recruiting Sixth Formers to teach in our partner school in China this summer before they move on to university (all expenses paid of course).
