The Innovation Trust aims to improve education through the application of new technologies and scientific discoveries to learning. It will create new opportunities and solutions for learners through a rigorous research and development process.  The approach is based on Education Sciences linked to new technologies. The vision of the trust is set out in Making Minds. 

Innovations generated by the Trust are shared, supporting education at local, regional and national level.  The largest programme we current run is our Primary Languages courses.

The Trust is a knowledge industry partnership between Microsoft, Tribal Education, North Tyneside Council, the school and Higher Education. 

Monkseaton High School also has a formal understanding with The Open University and helped create the Young Applicants in Schools and Colleges Scheme.
