Monkseaton High School

The new school, opening for September 2009.

Monkseaton High School is dedicated to providing the best possible education and care for all its students.  We welcome students into the school from many other schools, both in Year 9 and into our Sixth Form.

We are currently in an exciting period of major improvements. Our new school building will be open in September 2009, and it is already recognised as an outstanding example of educational architecture.  We have made other important changes, including working in partnership with others.  Monkseaton is England's first Trust School, and our Trust partners include Microsoft, North Tyneside Council, Tribal Education and the chair, Professor David Reynolds.  These partnerss are already benefiting every student. North Tyneside is delivering the new school building and Microsoft gives the school all its latest software and ICT expertise.  We also have partnerships with the FA in our highly successful Football Academy, and with The Open University on a range of joint projects.

We support our community in many ways.  Every child in North Tyneside primary schools learns languages through our Primary Modern Languages courses. We created a scheme that allows Sixth Formers to study degree modules from The Open University that is used in over 400 UK schools.

Our most important partners are the students and their families.  We believe knowing each student as an individual is the key to helping them be successful.
