If we are affected by any adverse weather conditions we will post an announcement here. We are open as normal.

Staff, students and Parents have worked together and very hard this year.  The results have been fantastic- read about them on the School Blog.

We made many changes to improve learning and outcomes. One of the changes was changing the school day, particularly as it was likely to improve student’s health.  This has attracted a lot of positive press coverage, thanks to Professor Russell Foster at Oxford University who, as you know, helped us decide the best times based on the best science.

Monkseaton High School is dedicated to providing the best possible education and care for all its students. We are also very passionate about engaging parents in their children's learning. We welcome students into the school from many other schools, both in Year 9 and into our Sixth Form.  Please download our brochure for a quick overview of the school.

We moved into our new school in September 2009 and it is an exciting time for our students, staff and parents. Our new school building has already been recognised as an outstanding example of educational architecture (and "green" features).  We have made other important changes, including working in partnership with others.  Monkseaton is England's first Trust School, and our Trust partners include Microsoft, North Tyneside Council, Tribal Education and the chair, Professor David Reynolds.  These partners are already benefiting every student. North Tyneside is delivering the new school building and Microsoft gives the school all its latest software and ICT expertise.  We also have partnerships with the FA in our highly successful Football Academy, and with The Open University on a range of joint projects.

We support our community in many ways.  Every child in North Tyneside primary schools learns languages through our Primary Modern Languages courses. We created a scheme that allows Sixth Formers to study degree modules from The Open University that is used in over 400 UK schools.

Our most important partners are the students and their families.  We believe knowing each student as an individual is the key to helping them be successful.
